Hit the Hills

The weekend being of really excellent weather, we made for the Cleveland hills to get some sun, fresh air and hunt for dragons. We got the train to Kildale, went up the hill through a farm that had spring lambs gambolling about, climbed up through a troll-infested forest to Captain Cook's Monument, then along to Roseberry Topping, which George climbed using his own little legs. "I'm doing very well", he told many passers by on the Cleveland Way. It was his first time up to either Roseberry or the Monument. Unfortunately we didn't get a glimpse of Odin (the giant dragon who lives beneath Roseberry), nor found the secret door to his cave, but we did see some trees he'd burned, heard a baby dragon in the woods, and walked by a sizeable pile of dragon poo.

Best weekend since Christmas; so good to just get up and out there.
